The first, which takes approximately one hour, can be done over the phone and must be completed prior to the filing of the bankruptcy. The second session can be completed by two means: study information mailed out then do a quiz over the phone or complete the session including testing online. This second session is done post-filing. Minimal fees apply and are paid directly to the agency providing the credit counseling. In extenuating circumstances, these agencies may waive their fees.
